History. Crescent Bank was founded in 1991 when a small investor group led by Gary N. Solomon Sr. and Fred B. Morgan IIIpurchased the assets of Columbia Homestead on Harrison Avenue in New Orleans. With only three employees, our bankopened as City Bank & Trust, but it was later changed to Crescent Bank & Trust (now just Crescent Bank). The namewas chosen to pay homage to a famous nickname of New Orleans, the Crescent City. Shortly after its founding, Crescent Bank began to open offices throughout Louisiana to provide auto loans and essential banking services to local markets. As the bank succeeded and grew, its geographic footprint expanded into several other states. Today, we have two full-service branches, two operation centers and five loan production offices (LPOs) in Louisiana. We also operate 38 LPOs in 23 states outside of Louisiana.
