Adult End of Life Care Palliative Care Pediatric Hospice and Pallitative Care Services Children's Beareavement What is hospice? The philosophy of hospice is to improve the quality of life for patients with a life limiting illness. When a physician and patient have decided together that there is no longer a desirable or feasible way to cure an illness, the focus of treatment moves from curing to caring. Hospice Care of South Carolina wants to address the medical, spiritual and emotional needs of the patient and family. Patients that would benefit from our services would have a life limiting illness, such as cancer, cardiopulmonary issue, Alzheimer’s and related disorders, neurological, liver or renal problems, HIV/AIDs or other similar diagnoses.
