The very first Dressbarn store was opened in 1962 by the founder Roslyn Jaffe. The idea behind the store was to provide quality wear for women. It was the time when women started evolving in multiple fields working in par with men. The time demanded smart dressing for women and that is what the store brought to the market. Elliott Jaffe joined his wife on board after a few years. With their hard work and commitment, they have managed to expand the company across the country. Besides, Dressbarn is a subsidiary of the famous Ascena Group, which already has four other similar brands of women’s clothing in its fold. The company constantly looking for expansion has now stepped up their game by planning to launch a design studio. Dressbarn initially was conceptualized to provide working women wear targeting the women between the ages of 30 and 50. However, it has slowly expanded to include young girls, teenagers and plus size clothes in its store. The store has been featured in many different magazines for its unique style and splendor. Dressbarn has also launched the “Style Squad”, a campaign which has professionals in fashion and beauty releasing videos showing the best way to dress and accessorize for every occasion.
