Founded 56 years ago, Hardee’s is a fast-food restaurant chain in the United States, with its headquarter located in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1960, Wilber Hardee started the business by opening his first restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina, indicating the origin of today’s Hardee’s. A year later, the founder, determined to expand his business, found two other persons, James Gardner and Leonard Rawls who together opened the first company store in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The founder of Hardee’s lost his share of the company over a poker game to the later joined partners, James and Leonard, while the name remained till today. The number of stores grew rapidly, reaching 200 at the end of its starting decade, and its first international store was located in Germany at the same time. The drama in Hardee’s development took place in 1997 when two of the major companies in the catering field, CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. and Hardee’s merged. From then on, Hardee’s commenced its era of growth and expansion. Now Hardee's owns thousands of store locations across the US and 10 other countries in the world.
