Sr. Mainframe Programmer
This individual will be responsible for mainframe COBOL development in a CICS and DB2 environment. The successful candidate will have experience developing in a CICS/DB2 environment in a current or recent position. Experience and configuring SOAP and/or REST web services in a CICS environment and Java experience are highly desired. Please do not apply if you do not have recent CICS and DB2 experience. No 3rd party or subcontractors.
The team hiring is our Streamlined New Accounts Processing (SNAP). This team is comprised of 2 main components:
Snap Core : Processes New Accounts application requests coming from Mobile, POS, Web and Catalog applications. SNAP core also provides web services used by SNAP UI. It interacts with Attribute Toolbox (ATB) and Strategy Manager (SM) for improving Alliance Data’s ability to acquire New Accounts and to proactively respond to new market opportunities.
Snap UI : Is used by Alliance Data Care Center associates, to process New Accounts applications that are called-in, mailed-in or to work applications in a work queue. It also hosts SNAP parameter setup screens, which are used by support teams to setup SNAP parameters.
This team also supports: Account Ranges : Assign and monitor account ranges used.
Application Tracking : Send reports on application activity by channel to clients.
Letter Processing : Letter batch process generates letters for New Account applications, online prescreen or prescreen acceptance applications.
CCI : Credit Card Issuance (CCI) builds credit card issuance files and sends it to one of the plastic fulfillment vendors.
CBR : Credit Bureau Reporting (CBR) builds reporting files for accounts in our database and sends them to the credit agencies (Experian, Equifax, Transunion and Innovis).
Attribute tool box and Strategy Manager : Technical product support for Experian tools used by New Accounts, Auth and Customer Service.
Fraud Online : Matches application data against fraud data.
AUWEB : Auth Web parameter and monitoring screen application.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent education, technical training and experience.
Five years’ experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting system applications, including four years’ experience programming with COBOL/DB2/CICS .
Previous experience with JCL, MVS, SQL, Web Services; Experience with Web Services, SOAP, XML.
Experience with JAVA a plus.
Strong knowledge of software development tools and methods.
Strong knowledge of test design, testing procedures, and configuration. Strong knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.
Ability to test and analyze data. Ability to create and execute test plans. Ability to organize multiple tasks and react to shifting priorities without compromising assignments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, understandable logic for maintainable code, which meets design specifications.
Aptitude for detail and accuracy.
Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical groups, both internal and external.
Ability to provide training and guidance to less experienced analysts.
Experience with PC based tools and products. MS-Office Suite preferred Qualifications
