Overview

Amyx is seeking to hire a Technical Writer at Scott AFB, IL. The Technical Writer will provide consolidated reporting capabilities for the Services Acquisition Management Division depicting integration of management products and processes in support of USTRANSCOM Services Acquisition programs, program-related activities, and services acquisitions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical writing assistance to system and security engineers
  • Provide RMF artifacts, technical documentation, integrated program metrics, master schedules, budgets, spend plans, Business Process Documentation, and Risk Management
  • Provide consolidated and integrated cost, schedule, performance, and risk metric based on the individual Acquisition program metrics and program related activities. Advise government on IPTs establishment for each Acquisition program, and advise on cost of ownership and affordable readiness and ensure these metrics are implemented and measured throughout the assigned Acquisition programs' life cycles.
  • Provide a consolidated and integrated master schedule for the Services Acquisition Management Division based on the individual Acquisition program schedules and Acquisition program-related activities assigned to the Services Acquisition Management Division. Format will be in Microsoft Project.
  • Provide reports and presentations to address management questions and issues
  • Consolidate and integrate budget reports based on the available individual Acquisition program budgets and Acquisition program related activities to provide an all-encompassing Services Acquisition Management Division budget outlook
  • Consolidate and integrate spend plan reports based on the available individual Acquisition program spend plans and Acquisition program related activities to provide an all-encompassing Services Acquisition Management Division spend plan outlook
  • Maintain and consolidate PEO-T business processes, e.g. information flow charts, process maps, and process descriptions. Provide recommendations of to-be processes in support of process improvement subtask.
  • Draft and maintain a Program Management Instruction. The instruction will supplement and conform to Federal, DOD IT and acquisition guidance with USTRANSCOM specifics.
  • Provide business process improvement support, including business process reengineering, to the Services Acquisition Management Division. Provide process improvement options and plans to streamline, eliminate redundancy, and achieve overall efficiencies within the Services Acquisition Management Division.
  • Participation in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), etc. with other contractors and government agencies and provide verbal and written assessments of such proceedings.
  • Support/provide independent assessment and evaluation of programs, capabilities, concepts, and deliverables as well as provide technology forecasting in order to identify and apply potentially relevant available and emerging technologies that foster innovative approaches.
