Overview
Accepts and maintains employment applications, interviews and selects applicants for placement, and implements hiring process. Facilitates a transfer of knowledge and/or skills to people through presentation and interaction.
Qualifications
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner.
  • Distributes and accepts all applications (seasonal, full-time and posted).
  • Reviews applications for incomplete inforamtion, previous work experiences, education and job skills.
  • Conducts one-on-one employment interviews.
  • Evaluates interviews based on Carowinds qualifications.
  • Enters interview and application data into HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and maintains application count.
  • Maintains various applicant files, and confidentiality of all paper work and information in Human Resources.
  • Selects, contacts and places applicants to fill vacant positions and records data on various tracking forms.
  • Processes new associate's paperwork and enters data into computer.
  • Arranges program logistics: scheduleing participants, & required resources, preparing & restoring facilities with appropriate arrangement of tables, chairs, audio visual equipment, props, snacks, and any other materials or equipment needs for training.
  • Facilitates training & transfers of information & learning, using adult learning principles, maintaining & adjusting training as needed to achieve objectives, uses all required props, equipment& simulations & evaluates instructional methods. (Good platform skills & processing of information.)
  • Calculates, records, enters attendance for training participants. Distributes data & records to appropriate departmental locations.
  • Speaks clearly & concisely with organized thought processes.
  • Knows & follows the procedures for scheduling.
  • Shows initiative in recognizing problems & uses proper judgment to react appropriately.
  • Performs employment-related mass mailings.
  • Performs incoming and outgoing telephone inquiries concerning possible positions.
  • Distributes, accepts and processes Group/Temporary program information.
  • Contacts groups and temporary services by telephone to fill requisitions.
  • Contacts groups and temporary services by telephone to fill requisitions.
  • Records confirmed placement groups data on various forms.
  • Processes group/temporary workers, assigns work location, distributes information, performs group/temporary program orientation and escorts to work locations.
  • Processes group time cards and evaluations, records and calculates information on paper and in computer for payment process.
  • Files all group information and applications alphabetical and numerical.
  • Communicates within department and with other departments for requested needs.
  • Works in other departments to gain placement knowledge.
  • Treats associates and guests with courtesy and respect.
  • Gathers, enters and processes statistical information for various reports.
  • Completes employment related verifications via the telephone.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Ability to work with other people.
  • Good judgment.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee
  • Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Basic computer and typing skills.
  • Ability to communicate verbally to one or a group for sharing information and instruction.
  • Possesses writing and basic math skills with good organization skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and rapidly changing office environment.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and submit it upon request.
  • Reliable vehicle for recruiting visits. (Mileage reimbursed.)
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
