Cisco is searching for a Department of Defense Sales Strategist to work as part of the Federal sales team. The role will be responsible for developing and driving the transformational road map for our Army and DISA government vertical. Successful candidates in this role will drive innovative architectures and platforms into our customer environment so that they use Cisco capabilities to deliver on their mission. Specifically, responsibilities include customer engagements and recommendations around the path to cloud, taking advantage of software defined networks to improve operations and visibility, and maximizing the value of date for Cyber awareness and capabilities. Candidates will be responsible for demand generation of product/solution/software sales Go-To-Market (GTM). Experience in the Defense sector and understand the challenges government customers face and how we can help monetize and optimize their GTM will be key.

  • You will be responsible for driving Federal pipeline in Defense accounts
  • Developing Sales GTM strategy around cloud and As A Service offering
  • Helping our Defense customers maximize collaboration capabilities to benefit the soldiers
  • Business forecasting and analysis on current/future trends – magic quadrant type analytics, etc
  • Drive and create outcome based selling motion for the field with strong cross-organization collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with key cross-functional teams across Sales, Services, and Engineering

Who You’ll Work With:

Who You Are:

  • You have an Engineering, Business Administration or Economics Degree, MBA preferred
  • Top Secret Clearance desired
  • You're experienced working with Defense customers and partners
  • You develop and sell complex solutions into the Army and DISA
  • You have a proven ability to build and maintain extensive customer relationships
  • You work and successfully integrate into a virtual sales organization that includes Sales (all levels) and the technical community
  • You collaborate with cross-functional organizations
  • You have an extensive background and understanding of product, service, and financial selling tools
  • You build actionable long- and short-term account plans based on the impacts of business and technology trends
  • You understand a broad range of customer technologies required
  • You have excellent communication skills and ability to persuade using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way

You will have the following Technical Skills:

  • Technical proficiency to work across the wide range of technologies, products and markets
  • Strong track record that includes demonstrable career progression and a focus on the high-tech industry
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Experience with how networks and clouds interact, future role of cloud in government
  • Demonstrable experience selling complex technical solutions to executive management
  • Ability to network within a client organization to identify all key influencers and decision makers.
