What does this role look like?
Responsible for identifying and resolving the import and/or export cargo needs of customers by interfacing with multiple departments and government agencies. Additionally, ensuring all cargo is properly authorized, traced/validated for preparation of loading or release, and moves on scheduled vessels. Completing all of these duties within established deadlines.

Some of your main responsibilities will be:
  • Manage tasks involving the movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Ensure that all import and export cargo is in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, as well as other regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as a liaison with the customer by keeping them updated on the status of cargo being transported.
  • Position is responsible for organizing the release of goods which include but not limited to; coordination between Terminal Operations, Customs House brokers, foreign locations, Intermodal department, and customers.

  • Associates Degree preferred; or High school diploma or equivalent, with formal job-related training.
  • 5 years general office, transportation/logistics experience with knowledge of ocean/air documents, customs forms and regulations preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Nice-to have:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions
  • Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures.

FLSA Status
The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
