Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Production Technology Manger, the Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible to support for effective planning, directing and coordinating of all activities for production engineering. Will gain experience in Lean and Cell Manufacturing, process improvement, equipment development, equipment buy offs, direct equipment installations, daily support, and debug.

Assist with the following duties:

• Investigate and resolve work in process/production issues.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements.
• Coordinate and develop manufacturing schedules for projects.
• Monitor assigned operations to ensure compliance with approved methods and quality standards.
• Line validation and trial run management.
• Run design of experiments to determine proper manufacturing capabilities and effectiveness.
• Evaluate process flow and plant layout.
• Troubleshoot product-manufacturing problems as required.
• Represent Production for the cross-functional teams, providing design for manufacturing feedback.
• Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.
• Represent the Omron Guiding Principles through interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic manufacturing industry or equivalent.
• Knowledge / understanding of IPC standards.
• Strong technical and analytical ability.
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be resourceful problem solver, with ability to prioritize and create approaches to meet required objectives.
• Detail oriented, resourceful, results-driven and able to take initiative and multi-task.
• Ability to manage time effectively and capable of prioritizing workload to meet scheduling demands and timelines.
• Ability to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines.
