Performs a variety of assigned duties including people management, conducting studies and special projects within the framework of a management training program involving hands-on rotation through various departments within the Consumer Bank division. Becomes familiar with procedures in each department assigned, acquiring the knowledge and experience required for assuming a managerial position. CLP participants rotate every 6 months over a 24-month period to gain exposure to different areas of the Consumer Bank.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.


  • CLP participants perform the duties and assignments as determined by the Assignment Leader, while rotating through various Consumer Bank departments.
  • Plans, assigns and monitors the workflow of a group of employees within an assigned functional area, maintaining optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness while ensuring that production standards are met and maintained.
  • Administer all human resource policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner including corrective counseling sessions with employees.
  • Ensures that the area is sufficiently staffed, and that the staff is adequately trained.
  • Maintains daily, weekly and monthly reporting of departmental activity.
  • Monitors the attendance of subordinates and ensures accuracy of hours work prior to submitting payroll information to the payroll department.
  • Create and present a formal PowerPoint presentation to Sr. Management at the end of each 6-month assignment.
  • Actively participate in community volunteerism projects.
  • Perform special projects as assigned and at the direction of the Assignment Leader or Program Manager, utilizing project management skills to manage and report back on project status.
  • Acquire recruiting skills to be able to make hiring decisions while on assignment.
  • Interpret Employee Engagement scores and conduct Employee Engagement Impact Plans with employees.
  • Build a network of resources within the Consumer Bank, upon which to call for assistance.
  • Attend formal training classes, supplementing the on-the-job learning that occurs throughout the program.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth ;developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.


  • Strong academic record (targeted minimum 3.0 GPA) and an interest in pursuing a career in Management.
  • Solid candidates should have relevant internship and/or co-op experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task and to be flexible.
  • Ability to present a professional image.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, as this is a training program structured to involve extensive self-learning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking, leadership and business acumen.
  • Relationship building and teamwork through extracurricular activities, work experience or academic pursuits. A Bachelors degree in a business related field is required.
