Franklin University has an opening for a Student Financial Services (SFS) Coordinator. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of SFS, the SFS Coordinator is responsible for providing financial aid and student account counseling/advisement for students at both Franklin and our branch campus, Urbana University.
As an initial point of contact, the SFS Coordinator is responsible for educating students (and parents, when applicable) and analyzing their overall financial circumstance. This includes eligibility, professional judgment, Satisfactory Academic Progress, Return to Title IV, Community College Alliance Program, scholarships, verification, payment alternatives and debt management to help ensure students are making informed decisions.
The SFS Coordinator will process financial aid in accordance to federal, state and institutional policies and procedures and will serve as a primary Business Office contact for financial account advisement, forms, refunds, payment options, payment contracts, and sponsor related book vouchers. In addition, the SFS Coordinator will represent the Franklin and Urbana Financial Aid and Business Offices at various campus and external events.
We seek someone with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of financial aid experience with a demonstrated student-centered philosophy and highly developed customer service skills for this role. The position also requires someone with strong analytical skills to be able to assess and evaluate student scenarios in order to provide appropriate education and counseling. The selected individual must have a demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines. Knowledge of Title IV Programs and federal financial aid regulations is preferred and previous Ellucian Colleague experience would be a plus in this position. The position may require occasional evening and weekend hours as well as minimal travel to our Urbana branch location for events.
