Job Description:

Responsible for directing the inventory, distribution and shipping functions. Responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, correct packaging and labeling of incoming parts and finished goods, and timely and correct shipment of customer orders.

Job Functions:

  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts of warehouse and storage areas.
  • Works with other departments to improve production output, quality, and communication.
  • Responsible for determining priority of ever-changing deadlines and issues.
  • Anticipates bottlenecks, provides escalation management.
  • Develop and document department procedures.
  • Maintains and analyzes data of key performance metrics to continuously improve inventory control.
  • Develop the warehouse operations strategies, manage future growth, and improve quality.
  • Integrate company strategy into tactical plans and actions necessary for the warehouse/distribution center to appropriately execute and support these strategies.
  • Review employee performance in meeting assigned goals.
  • Review shipping reports to ensure customer ship dates and special handling requests are met.
  • Report on time delivery goals to company.
  • Evaluate emerging warehouse and distribution technologies.
  • Review expiration dates to maintain proper product flow.
  • Review inventory status to maintain a well-organized and accurate inventory.
  • Work closely with suppliers and transport companies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience supervising and related experience with warehouse management, inventory management, and receiving and distribution processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or similar field required.
  • Extensive experience with supply chain management and performance metrics.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing policies.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge ERP Systems. Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Previous experience directing warehouse operations in the industry.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, or other analytical tools.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and influence employees.
  • Strong change management skills with the ability to learn and implement Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
