The Americas Events Team is seeking an events expert with the drive and enthusiasm to take HP events to the next level. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for events and doing exceptional work for a cross functional team. We’re looking for someone with a unique mastery on events that has a hands-on approach as their event management style. This person will contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas, will successfully operate in the most complex disciplines, and provides highly innovative solutions to complex project complications. On our largest events, we’re looking for someone who will lead a large cross-functional team while providing mentoring and guidance to other members of the internal team. You will be working with some of the best and brightest in the company, so a drive to deliver top notch, innovative work is critical.

Core Responsibilities:

  • This position will focus primarily on internal events but will encompass all AMS large scale events and conferences with budgets from at $1.5 million and up.
  • In addition, this position will focus on smaller scale strategic projects to drive innovation on the AMS events team
  • Manage all aspects of a large internal event such as: transportation and lodging, content management, scheduling, offsite events, sponsorship packages, fabrication, and guest experience
  • Travel up to 40%

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Event budget management on projects up to $4 million/ 4,000 attendees
  • Event management on events ranging from $25k - $6 million
  • Proven record of content management (digital, custom applications, presentations)
  • Strong knowledge of event production, fabrication, and scheduling
  • Demonstrated leadership on large scale event strategy
  • 8-10+ years of experience in event management or marketing
  • Experience with on both agency side and client side preferred
  • History of agency management and leading large teams both pre/post event and onsite
  • Must have the proven ability to successfully manage and execute multiple projects, priorities, and engagements simultaneously
  • Project management skills with experience driving deliverables with multiple entities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities
  • BA or BS. Marketing or Communications preferred
  • Prefer candidates with event management experience at global events such as: CES, NRF, and SXSW
