Lead the Way K9 Training is looking to hire a motivated, experienced dog trainer in the Charlottesville, VA area. Lead the Way K9 Training is a professional dog training company that offers 1-on-1 in-home private training in and around the Charlottesville area. We offer on and off-leash obedience training for dogs of all ages and breeds as well as solutions for behavior issues such as anxiety, fear, resource guarding, aggression, and leash reactivity. Our clients expect a high degree of support and communication as well as exceptional results.
Lead the Way K9 Training is seeking an experienced dog trainer who is already knowledgeable and confident working with puppies and dogs of all sizes and breeds teaching obedience on and off-leash as well as solving behavior issues. The ideal candidate can not only train a dog to a high degree of reliability off-leash but is also just as skilled in teaching and coaching dog owners on how to achieve the same results with their own dogs. The ideal candidate already has an extensive skill set with ecollar training.
You should be experienced and open to using the right tool for each individual dog including but not limited to prong collars, slip leads, e collars, food/treats, toys/play and of course praise. You should have experience working with clients in a 1-on-1 setting in the clients' homes. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years experience but are most importantly looking for someone who is the right fit with our company goals and beliefs and who can create rapport with the clients and dogs. Connecting with clients in a genuine, relatable and compassionate manner is essential.
