Oversee and manage the Accounting and Finance functions of LMI's Ohio facility as well as the Financial Service Center that is underway in support of the Luxfer Magtech Business Unit. This includes managing accounting and finance functions as directed by the Vice President of Finance to provide information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All aspects of financial reporting, including monthly results, quarterly results, and annual submissions for an SEC listed company
  • Continual improvement on the accuracy of sales forecasts, monthly rolling financial forecasts, and cash forecasts.
  • Preparation of annual budget and 3-year strategy plan that supports the Division's growth
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures associated with SOX compliance, ensuring all internal controls and procedures are performed and maintained, so that 100% SOX compliancy is continued
  • Providing timely, relevant and accurate analysis of business performance, against budget, forecast and prior years; and maintaining standard operating procedures for the above
  • Assuming responsibility for maintaining all inventory movement and reconciliation models
  • Performing a detailed review of both volume and value of inventory on a monthly basis
  • Establishing an inventory forecast method
  • Purchasing of raw materials to ensure proper stocks are maintained to meet customer demands while minimizing working capital
  • Key member of the ERP implementation steering committee to ensure the project is on time and on budget
  • Point of contact for all audit work – Financial, SOX, Government contracts, etc.
  • Liaison with banks, insurers, health providers, workers comp insurers, 401k providers and other external agents.
  • Analytical support for decision-making across the company
  • Oversee the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc,; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value
  • Respond to Corporate as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
  • Conform with and abide by all SOX regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • This position is responsible for managing the accounting department

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
  • MBA a plus
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience in SOX compliance
  • Significant cost accounting experience preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years manufacturing accounting experience preferred
  • 3-5 years experience managing an accounting team required
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experienced in ERP systems, SAP preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledgeable about economic and accounting principles
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The majority of this job operates in a clerical office setting. Ability to work in and around a manufacturing setting is a must. The role will mostly use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
  • This position requires up to 25% travel
