The Tax Accountant is responsible for timely filing of annual reports with various states as well as preparation and mailing of other income tax forms, in order to ensure that all statutory deadlines are met. The Tax Accountant also provides administrative support to a tax compliance team.
Prepare annual Secretary of State filings for domestic corporations, LLCs, and partnerships
Prepare income tax extension and estimate forms, and process the forms for mailing
Process income tax returns and mailing (including copying/scanning, creating files, and filing)
Help maintain an overall tax filing calendar for tax compliance team to ensure all filing deadlines are met
Process check requests and deposit tax refund checks
Utilize software and systems to improve quality of work process and increase efficiency
General administrative duties
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Associates degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two years’ work experience required
Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Attention to detail is critical
