The Warehouse Group Leader is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining accurate inventory records and assisting in other materials organization functions. People management responsibilities include planning and assigning daily work, participating in addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including: shipping customer orders, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving MRO supplies and incoming raw material and routing to appropriate inventory locations including customer returns, filling raw material job requirements for production, packaging parts and receiving into finished goods, coordinating outside service activities, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately transacted, inventory location accuracy, overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities and product preservation.
Perform daily materials Plex activities including job allocations, job closings and retire inventory.
Understands and complies with customer requirements including packaging, shipping and associated documents.
Coordinate traffic logistics
Coordinate daily activities with departments to ensure requirements are being met
Ensure compliance of preventative maintenance activities for fork lift trucks and other warehouse equipment. Work with maintenance to address any equipment issues.
Assist Quality Department with quality issues.
Verify hazardous materials are properly labeled and loaded and placard correctly.
Maintain “5S” visual workplace discipline, supports safety in warehouse operations
Provide hands-on leadership to train and ensure adherence to warehouse policies, procedures and processes.
Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Requirements
High school diploma
Two years minimum experience in a manufacturing warehouse leadership role overseeing high-volume parts packing, inventory control, receiving and shipping functions.
Lifting by hand up to 50#
Operates fork lift truck
Computer skills including ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Self-directed, motivated and goal oriented with sense of urgency
Skilled at managing time and priorities through organization and prioritization
Effective communicator both within group and also with other disciplines Maintain a positive, professional attitude
