Job Summary

The Assistant Shop Coordinator I monitor system failures and environmental issues and responds in a timely manner. Makes local and system-wide system adjustments as necessary. Notifies managers and foremen of life safety equipment failures. Dispatches mechanics as needed; on an as-needed basis, answers phones, dispatches mechanics and assigns work orders. May oversees staff in fan shop, control shop, electronics shop and house call mechanics.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Receives house calls and generates work orders, assign mechanics and closes out or escalates work orders.
  • Responds to pneumatic tube request and system failures alarms. Shut down an restart system..
  • Responds to environmental control contractors.
  • Uses variety of computer software (Windows Office, Four rivers TMS, Johnson Seaman’s and Andover BMB System.
  • Performs duties of Shop Coordinator in his/her absence.
  • Provides instructions to staff personnel on how to perform functions safely and efficiently.
  • Generates safety round schedules.
  • Performs other related duties.

Education Requirements:

High School Graduate with additional facility maintenance training

Experience Requirements:

3 years of related maintenance experience

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance
