Logistics Manager

1. This position is responsible for managing all systems and personnel associated with all aspects of Porta Kleen’s Logistics and mobile assets.

2. Ensures the availability and deployment of all physical and human assets, required to exceed the customer’s expectations.

3. The position is responsible for all Porta Kleen DOT compliance.

4. The position assists all divisions, maintenance and sales to optimize efficiency, quality and costs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. The position is responsible for managing and performing all HR functions associated with logistics personnel and indirect management of the drivers.

2. Ensures equipment requirements, location and status are coordinated with maintenance, operations, sales, and the customer.

3. Works closely with Sales and managers to make recommendations on execution of new and existing jobs.

4. Monitors and recommends improvements for CDL driver and route driver staffing levels.

5. The position must understand the drive the P&L statement and meet or exceed budgeted thresholds. The position is responsible for maximizing transportation costs and route profitability.

6. Initiate or recommend, as warranted, system changes to improve overall equipment utilization.

7. This position handles a broad range of problems and emergencies across multiple branch and customer locations, and requires a high degree of freedom, responsibility and accountability for taking actions in response to them.

8. The position is heavily involved in managing and improving quality and ensures company standards are being met.

9. The position must drive and meet safety objectives. Identify opportunities for improvement and provide training and support to operations.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. This position is responsible for manpower, equipment and quality in multiple geographically dispersed locations.

2. Investigate and recommend appropriate state-of-the-art logistics technology to improve logistics.

3. Due to the nature of the business, long non-traditional hours are required as a regular part of the job.

4. Travel to the different Branch sites and customer sites as needed to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. 20% travel required.

5. Has the authority to make unsupervised decisions consistent with the scope of responsibilities.

6. Provides calculated recommendations to the overall strategic planning process.


Required Skills

Required Experience

1. A Bachelors Degree with a specialized focus on logistics or engineering preferred.

2. Work experience / education in Supply Chain Management field a plus

3. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet and enterprise applications.

4. Ability and experience in applying creative and effective solutions to a broad array of complex problems.

5. Professional ability and experience communicating will all levels in a fast-paced, multi-branch business environment.

6. Ability to conduct himself/herself in a professional and ethical manner regarding sensitive business and employee information.
