Job Description:

This position requires knowledge and experience in accounting/bookkeeping with proficiency in Word/Excel. This position requires a high level of integrity to maintain confidential information and files. Other requirements of this position include strong communication skills, strong ability to adapt to change, excellent customer service and a positive attitude.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Verify cashiers’ completed RDS reports and updating cash over/short log
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and balance cash in safe
  • Gift card balance, research, correct if necessary and send reports
  • Reconcile credit cards
  • Monitor daily Sales Tax and reconcile using a spreadsheet (in states that have sales tax)
  • Upload and balance sales when computers are off-line
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable, including applying payments
  • Account for store use charges and donations
  • Maintain employee files and monitor employee purchases
  • Complete various accounting reports, incl. sales/salaries, employee margins and A/R Aging
  • Send reports and paperwork to Home Officeo
  • Maintain the coupon balancing spreadsheet
  • Process and track coupon redemptions
  • Complete New Employee and Benefits paperwork
  • Manage time keeping system and process payroll for hourly employees
  • File reports and paperwork
  • Annual records retention
  • Frequent communication with Accounting and Human Resources departments
  • Other duties as needed
Required Experience:

  • Strong computer skills-including excellent Microsoft Excel skills
