OhioGuidestone is seeking to hire an AR/Cash Application Specialist to join our team in Berea! The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a background with accounts receivable, and who has strong skills with Windows-based software (Excel, Word, and Outlook). This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work independently in a fast-paced agency.

Essential Functions:

  • Posts daily deposits by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.

  • Updates receivables and identifies unpaid invoices.

  • Maintains accurate records of cash sheets, invoices, and accounting ledgers as required.

  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from program departments, finance staff and from customers.

  • Engages management on posting or AR problems that are encountered.

  • Enters adjusting entries as needed.

  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with program department, etc.

  • Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account, verifying totals, preparing reports, etc.

  • Initiates collections on past-due accounts as needed.

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

  • Works with the Director of Revenue and Receivables on specific tasks to ensure timely invoicing, tracking, etc. of contract funds.

  • Completes Invoicing for assigned contracts.

  • Will participate in Uniform Guidance Compliance for federal contracts.

  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

  • Maintains reliable attendance.

  • Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

  • Demonstrates positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.

  • Work is generally performed at a desk, prolonged periods of sitting, data entry, filing, and photo-copying

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • Above average mathematical skills required.

  • Computer literacy and accounts payable experience necessary.

  • Interacts verbally with coworkers, supervisors and representatives from outside agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum educational level is a High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable/Cash Management or Cost Reimbursement Billing, or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

  • Skilled with Excel.

  • Familiarity with accounting software programs preferred.

  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening.

  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
