Platte Valley Bank has a full time Personal Banker/Teller opening at our Barry Road location. This position will work rotating shifts and 2 Saturdays a month.
The Personal Banker/Teller assists customers in opening new accounts and works as a teller while adhering to Bank policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Sales/Operations– 85%
- Have a basic knowledge of all bank deposit products and services
- Provide prompt, friendly and professional service at all times
- Meet monthly cross-sell goals of 4% on new customers and 1.5% on existing customers
- Refer customers to other types bank products, such as: loans, mortgages and investment services
- Accept deposits, cash checks
- Attend sales training as required
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Adhere to Platte Valley Bank Sales program
- Opening new accounts and performing maintenance on existing accounts
- Opening safe deposit boxes and allowing customer access
- Attend all required operational and sales training
- Assist customers over the phone
- Properly follow up with each new customer
- Assisting with customer problem resolution

- Follow security procedures when opening/closing branch
- Knows and follow dual control procedures when necessary

- Remains alert to possible check cashing scams, money laundering, and forgery/fraud situations
Expectations:
The Personal Banker/Teller is to follow all 5 stages of the sales program:
- Plan Stage – have a neat workstation and all necessary materials available
- Relax Stage – Greet customer, make eye contact, stand up, lean forward, use customers name, initiate non-business conversation, give full attention
- Evaluate Stage – Determine reason for visit, obtain information and verify service need, ask product needs
- Present Stage – satisfy service information needs, uses sales referral impact question, present product benefit statement
- Close Stage – Explain purpose of referral, Handle referral objection, name person to see, give brochure, smile, use customers name in closing, make closing remark

- The Personal Banker/Teller will go back and forth between the Personal Banker duties and Teller duties

- Must be able to listen to and assess customer needs
Physical Demands:
The Personal Banker/Teller can sit for long periods of time and have prolonged computer usage/typing. Coin may have to be lifted 2-3 times per week and bags may be as heavy as 50 pounds. Repetitive motion with counting money.
Qualifications:
Previous banking experience preferred. The Personal Banker/Teller must have basic clerical skills and above average computer skills. Good communication skills are necessary.
