PrimeSource Building Products Inc., one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, has an immediate opportunity for an Inside Sales Representative in our Waterbury, CT distribution center.


As an Inside Sales Representative, your paramount focus would be to provide exceptional and consistent customer sales support.

Professionally engage customers and mitigate/coordinate all customer requests though all inbound contact mediums made available to our customers. Through training focusing on customer support and sales excellence, product knowledge, and systems operation proficiency you will grow with PrimeSource as we continue our journey of industry leading customer support.

  • Proficient with SAP and to ensure order accuracy and fast customer response times
  • Enters orders, returns, and credit memos
  • Simultaneously handle inbound call/email flow with urgency and efficiency
  • Qualifies and quantifies customers’ needs through energetic and focused conversations while probing customers for future opportunities
  • Can effectively make outbound calls to core customers and house accounts to effectively message PrimeSource’s value proposition
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with accuracy and urgency
  • Makes decision on when/how to connect customer with other PrimeSource support resources (e.g., PS Direct, Product Sales Specialists, Territory Manager, etc.)
  • Draws heavily on category manager knowledge and support to sell the full offering of products available through PSBP
  • Provides industry leading customer service to both maintain current business and expand PrimeSource’s share of wallet
  • Interacts with customers through mobile methods (email, text, phone call, etc.) to maintain consistent connection
  • Organized & knowledgeable of current market conditions, campaigns and pricing
  • Coordinates with other resources within PrimeSource as needed to better serve customers and territory managers
  • Ability to create sales quotes including pricing, credit terms, discounts, service commitments, obtain orders or program business
  • Communicates and understands competitive pricing across product categories
  • Participates in monthly reviews with their supervisor or manager


Must have High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D
Bachelor's Degree or some college coursework preferred not required

Other Requirements:
Must have at least 2-5 years of Sales or Inside Sales experience.
Some knowledge of SAP and CRM helpful, but not required.

Qualified candidates must be self-motivated, quota driven and be willing to work as part of a sales team. Requires professional and confident telephone skills. Proficient keyboarding and computer skills also required. We are looking for sales or customer service experience and/or college degree. Any experience in the building materials industry is a big plus!
