Overview

PSI is looking for a Top Employee to join our Top Workplace team as a School Health Medical Assistant providing care to a special needs/medically fragile student in a classroom setting. This position would be part of an educational team. Positions available in the Brecksville and Cuyahoga Heights areas. The schedule for these positions range from 30 to 37.5 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Staff school clinic and attend to students’ health needs
  • Be able and willing to work independently in the assigned School Health Clinic
  • Administer prescribed medications in accordance with school board policy, ORC 3313-713, and PSI policy.
  • Provide first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures
  • Perform screening programs and school health programs
  • Complete and maintain required documentation of student health records and health services provided
  • Establish and maintain a high state of neatness, cleanliness and organization in the school health clinic at all times
  • Provide and promote relationships between community health providers and students, parents, and the community at large.

Qualifications

  • Diploma from accredited medical assistant program
  • Experience caring for children strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of communicable disease prevention and medication protocol
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws & ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Collaborative, constructive team building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
If hired, must have or obtain a current CPR and First Aid certification, complete a BCI/FBI Background check and be in compliance with Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3301-20-01.
