$14.00 per hour for 1st shift plus $0.50 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift
Responsible for receiving duties; verifying and keeping accurate records of items received into the computer system according to established guidelines and procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety guidelines.
Check-in inbound product and tag product accordingly
Breaks down pallets as necessary
Match item numbers, match item quantity and description and note any differences
Key receipts into computer
Document supplier non-conformances; ie, packaging type, damages, weight limits, etc.
Work with buyers to clean up any receiving issues
Tag product with system generated receipt tag
Stack empty pallets; clean and sweep work area and remove trash regularly
Work as a team member by interacting and communicating
Maintain productivity standard within operational area
Follow all safety policies and work procedures
Maintain a strong attendance record in accordance with Ryder policy
Inspect all power equipment and complete the safety inspection sheet before operation
Operation of Power Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment to complete daily tasks if needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Must have the ability to work in a fast pace environment
Ability to cross train and work in different departments as needed
Ability to be a to work in a team environment to support the overall goals
While performing duties of this job, employee will stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch
Excellent organizational and good housekeeping skills
WMS/JDE and RF Scanning experience is preferred.
Carrying/lifting/pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand and/or walk on concrete floor for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required
Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to input data into computer system
Work overtime as assigned
Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions
Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer
Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
Pull orders accurately as assigned
Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location
Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process
Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipmen, perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned
Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
