PRIMARY PURPOSE: To understand and help define requirements and perform analysis for various strategic and tactical projects for the purpose of assisting in developing or modifying simple to moderately complex software programs to meet the desired business need; to assist in developing and submitting requirements to programmers; to assist with review sessions to discuss the requirements or desired system functions with developers, quality analysts and management; and to potentially perform the development function if applicable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in performing moderately complex analysis of data and system, including loading and balancing creation of derived fields and formatting, process flows and data diagrams.
Assists in performing all development tasks required to ensure the accuracy of each software program within the specified timeframes.
Develop skills and knowledge in required development language to perform required tasks.
Works closely with management on assigned projects from inception through implementation ensuring adequate internal communication and user involvement is maintained.
Analyzes client and customer needs as required; assists in the requirement process, development, and unit testing of simple to moderately complex code.
Proactively obtains information needed for the successful development of software programs.
Develop & test software using Informatica, PL/SQL, Progress, Microsoft .net or other programming languages as specified.
Completes required documentation as needed to provide a full and clear history of development and changes.
Assists in investigating issues and developing resolution in a timely manner with a technical author.
Follows pre-established departmental standards and guidelines as they pertain to design and development; adheres to the goal of delivering and maintaining the highest quality of customer service to our clients.
Provides feedback and suggestions to improve process to IT management/Team Lead.
- Works closely with project managers to meet and complete project milestones accurately and on time.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Major in information systems or computer science preferred. Language development courses in a relevant and applicable language and/or business analytical experience preferred. Education in interpreting user requirements, business applications design and development of business applications strongly preferred.
Two (2) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Specific knowledge of Oracle databases, PL/SQL, C#/C++/C, Open Source, Korn Shell Script, Perl or Progress 4GL highly preferred.

This position will be an integral part in staying ahead of Sedgwick's numerous security conscious
clients and executive concerns regarding our IT practices. The position will assist with and track
projects focused on process, procedural and/or IT compliance changes/updates; track and report on
contractual non-compliance issues and monitor them through resolution; evaluate vendor compliance to Sedgwick IT Security Standards as a flow-down requirement from clients; act as a liaison to client auditors and IT staff on technology-based systems; assist in gathering evidence to support on-going audits of Sedgwick IT practices; track required testing/reporting of security for applications and network as well as other duties as assigned. Highly prefer candidates with knowledge of risk and project management practices who are tenacious, patient; detail-oriented and have strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills. Good understanding of business processes and constraints and have a logical approach to problem solving are preferred skills. Prefer candidates that are bilingual English/Spanish.
