Program Overview:

Sequel Youth and Family Services of Union is a 24-bed secure residential sex offender program located in north central Florida in Raiford. The program is approximately 28 miles North of Gainesville and 38 miles East of Jacksonville. SYFS Union provides moderate risk sex offender programming for males, ages 12-19, who have displayed inappropriate sexual behavior or committed a sexual offense. SYFS Union is operated exclusively for the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice

Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Youth Care Worker supervises and assists students in all program related activities using professionally acceptable methods and techniques. Serves as a positive role model to the youth.

The appropriate candidate will have the:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and student records.
• Ability to write documentation in student records, routine reports, and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of students and peers.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a High School Diploma and be 21 years of age or older.
• Experience working with delinquent youth or in the mental health field is desirable.
• Applicants with equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
