We currently have a part time opening for a Floral Designer at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary in Riverside , California . Designs, cuts and arranges live, dried, or artificial flowers and foliage at the location and for funeral services.
70 % Floral Design
Confers with client regarding price and type of arrangement desired.
Estimates costs and prices arrangements.
Packs and wraps completed arrangements.
Plans arrangement according to client's requirements, utilizing knowledge of design and properties of materials, or selects appropriate standard design pattern.
Selects flora and foliage for arrangement.
Trims material and arranges bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items using trimmers, shapers, wire, pin, floral tape, foam, and other materials.
Maintains design work area and flower cooler in an orderly and clean fashion.
30% Customer Service
Addresses client family needs promptly and accurately.
Works with Funeral Director or designee on any issues and resolutions
Creates a sense of concern and compassion.
Drives van or other vehicle to complete delivery
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
High School or GED equivalent
Training in Floral Design preferred
Certificate from School of Floral Design preferred
Valid state issued driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of floral products and design
Demonstrated knowledge of the care of floral plants and flowers
Basic computer, internet and word processing skills
Above average communication skills
High level of compassion and integrity
Problem solving skills
Ability to multi task and set priorities
Adaptable to frequently changing priorities
Available to work flexible work schedule based on business needs
