Job Description

The Teller II – Float processes Customer transactions face-to-face for a variety of routine to more complex financial transactions including but not limited to check cashing, withdrawals, and deposits. This job is responsible to balance cash drawers and assists Customers with basic product information. The Teller II - Float has responsibility to assist in exceeding service goals by minimizing Customer wait times and accurately and efficiently processing Customer transactions while providing legendary Customer Service in addition to recognizing referral opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Establishes and solidifies Customer relationships by providing legendary Customer Service based on the TD Framework, Legendary Experience Index (LEI), Think SMART and How to WOW! Shop criteria
  • Trains and acts as a mentor to new Tellers
  • Assists Head Teller or Assistant Head Teller with daily duties as directed by management
  • May assist in the preparation of Store Huddles
  • Performs advanced transactions, including foreign exchange; Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), reporting and correcting discrepancies Balance Automated Teller machines (ATMs) and Teller Cash Dispensers (TCDs)/ Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs) as necessary
  • Adheres to safe deposit box procedures/ operations and guidelines
  • Engages Customers in conversations regarding their current and future financial needs and educates Customers about Bank products and services. Responsible for recognizing referral opportunities and initiating introductions to appropriate team members.
  • Expected to service both lobby and drive-thru Customers
  • Responsible and accountable for cash drawers and vaults including maintaining appropriate cash limits and securing cash at all times
  • Accountable for ensuring confidential customer information is securely stored throughout the day
  • Understanding the importance of and following of Dual Control
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures such as, BSA and Patriot Act
  • Expected to complete all required in-classroom training and on-line training
  • Follows all security and audit measures to minimize potential loss
  • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years related experience required
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Must be willing to do same day travel to multiple locations within a designated region or area
  • General Math skills
  • Ability to provide one on one instruction
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
