Job Description:Responsibilities:
The Mid-Level Systems Engineer will provide
technical/engineering support for the Air Force’s Server
Consolidation Environment (SCE), BITI Wireless, and
Voice Protection System (VPS) systems/programs. Specific

responsibilities may include:
  • Provide integration of new applications, including,
but not limited to: coordinating design reviews,
providing List of Materials (LOMs) for expansion
requirements and coordinating integration activities
with the application team or application integration
contractor.
  • Provide documentation of changes to the system for
application integration and delivery as well as
documentation for data recovery, protection and
migration as required.
  • Perform system expansion or contraction planning
activities.
  • Provide VMware engineering design and architecture
support for the SCE migration into new physical and
virtual data center locations.
  • Provide IA assessment and remediation.
  • Determine resolution of deployment problems in the
production environment.
  • Provide evaluation of existing SCE architecture and
site specific data center services to determine
implementation requirements at each location.
  • Provide reviews of contractor submittals of System
Design and Architecture Reports and Tech Order
CDRLs.
  • Support AF BITI Wireless users with system
configuration management, software/hardware upgrades
and troubleshooting of connectivity issues as a Tier
3 resource.
  • Work closely with Aruba network engineers to isolate
operational issues and identify corrective actions.
  • To assist BITI in conducting various compliance
inspections as required (e.g. CCRI, Scope Edge,
NETLAW).
  • Author processes for configuring and managing BITI
Wireless devices.
  • Perform and assist with emergency restoration at
remote sites.
  • Maintain a database of all provisioned access point
and controllers.
  • Act as a liaison between the BITI Program Office and
NOSC.
  • Provide user and user rights management, including,
but not limited to Personal Identification Number
generation.
  • Perform system & system component
installation/re-installation (hardware and software)
IAW TOs or other applicable documentation.
  • Provide analysis of operational configuration and
performance data captured through either system
audits or by other means provided.
  • Travel as directed by the COR to perform system
administration and maintenance activities.
  • Provide remote and local (IAW local operating
instructions) system operation oversight including
the monitoring of alerts and setup and general
administration.
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential issues.
  • Provide administration support for system
integration and test events.
  • Perform test and application of TCTOs and Field
Change Orders (FCOs) in support of PMO requirements.
  • Ensure systems are in compliance with STIGs.
  • Provide custom report and/or ad-hoc report
generation as scheduled or as directed by the
Government.
  • Provide metrics on system performance and resource
availability.
  • Provide information pertaining to risks or issues as
seen during the course of the task order.
  • Perform system troubleshooting / general and
preventive maintenance / backup / restoration tasks
IAW TOs or other applicable documentation.
  • Provide advisement to users and review user produced
Air Force Network Operations Procedures or similar
documentation intended to optimize the operational
impact.
  • Assist in the authoring of network and security
processes and procedures as required.
  • Provide site specific documentation of the system
configuration.
  • Provide site specific logical and physical network
drawing generation and maintenance.
  • Submit source data for baseline change requests to
the PMO configuration and Change Management process.
  • Conduct system sustainment via voice protection
policy definition, setup and implementation.
  • Author custom security policies.
  • Implement SecureLogix policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • VCAP5-Data Center Administration in vSphere 5.x or
more recent (within 30 days of hiring)
  • VCP5-Data Center Virtualization in vSphere 5.x or
more recent (within 30 days of hiring)
  • Security+ and/or CISSP or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
  • DoD SECRET Clearance
Experience:
  • Blade technologies experience in a virtualized
environment
  • Demonstrated advanced diagnostics and
troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience Requirements: five (5) – seven (7) years
in related technical area with demonstrated growth
of responsibilities and expertise
  • Air Force Cyber background desired
  • The successful candidate must meet eligibility

requires US citizenship.
