We currently have an opening for a Logistics Manager.


  • Assist the Director-Distribution & Logistics in leading and directing the receipt, distribution and inventory control processes for the University of Kansas Hospital Authority. Primary responsibility for stock and non-stock receipt, distribution and inventory control.
  • Supervise and provide management development to the front line staff.
  • Interact with other managers throughout the organization to achieve the supply chain receiving, distribution and inventory control objectives of the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date on all industry best receiving, distribution and inventory control practices through industry literature, periodicals and trade publications and identify and implement those that best fit the mission and goals of KU Hospital.
  • Promote a professional culture within and throughout the supply chain management functions within the organization.
  • Special projects, assignments and other duties as requested.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Information Systems or related Field; related work experience may substitute for Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Three years’ experience in health care in a facility or facilities comparable to Kansas University Hospital Authority with involvement in managing receiving, distribution and inventory control.
  • At least 2 years’ experience at a management level with budget responsibility in a healthcare organization of comparable complexity.
  • Knowledge of healthcare receiving, distribution and inventory control, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Materials Management Information Systems regarding receiving, distribution and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact and work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams from all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and levels of importance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills as well as independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or Finance
