Inventory Control Coordinator

Inventory is extremely important to our business. In the Accounting Department, our Inventory Coordinator supports stores, distributions centers, internet and Torrid HQ departments by troubleshooting and resolving inventory discrepancies and questions. In this role, you’ll ensure all of the above is happening, while constantly keeping your eyes open for new ways to work more efficiently.

What You’ll Do

  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and questions that are communicated by the retail stores through email.
  • Partner with Buyers and Store Operations teams to ensure that retail stores are properly processing inventory-related transactions (e.g. return-to-vendor)
  • Utilize inventory systems (e.g. Oracle, WMS) to determine appropriate inventory adjustments.
  • Assists in completing the month-end close process in accordance with the department’s month-end checklist.
  • Assists in the implementation, reconciliation and reporting of the bi-annual physical inventory for the stores, DCs and Internet, through activities such as preparing inventory packages to the stores, researching discrepancies, following up with the stores, DCs, and Internet and, reporting results.
  • Assists AP team in researching receipts discrepancies.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and distributes routine daily, weekly and monthly reports for further review and ensures inventory control policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Assists in system testing and upgrade efforts.
  • Identifies and recommends operational improvements that will aid in the ability to better control the flow of inventory.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Need

  • A college degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Retail or manufacturing background is preferred.
