FT Maintenance Engineer Hotels (Paperhanger/Painter)

The starting pay rate for this position is $23.55 per hour.

Prepares surfaces prior to application of paints, coatings and wallpaper to both the building’s interiors and exteriors. Paints and refinishes furniture, props and other items as directed by the Disneyland Resort leadership team. Has the ability to cut and repair drywall as needed and to provide patch work and texturing to match adjacent surfaces. Prepares and refinishes surfaces to Resort standards while matching interior and exterior paint colors and special finishes. Also performs basic repairs to carpets and tile work.


• Performs duties including, but not limited to, maintaining the show quality of the Disneyland Resort Hotels including Guest rooms and public spaces• Performs the painting-and-repair-related duties described under “Basic Purpose & Objective of the Position,” above• Performs repairs on and installation of carpeting and tile• Documents work by initiating and completing work orders in the computerized maintenance program• Evacuations/downtimes - climbs stairs or walkways up to 150 feet high, walks on uneven surfaces, and assists Guest’s in these situations. Must stay calm in highly stressful situations.• Interacts with Guests and Cast Members answering questions, providing directions, event information, and other services to help create a magical experience for our Guests and Cast Members.

Basic Qualifications:

Schedule Availability - Must be open to any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) including holidays, with any combination of days off.Technical Skills, Abilities and Experience• Color matching• Faux painting• Brush painting• Roll painting• Spray painting• Application of texture• Appropriate preparation for recoating• Familiarity with all types of painting applications• Knowledgeable of all AQMD coating requirements• Installation/repair of wall coverings, carpeting, tile and grouting

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of experience, or equivalent, in a hotel or commercial-painting environment preferred

Additional Information:

Cast Members assigned to the Hotel Painter (“Maintenance Engineer”) position are required to attend an annual Hearing Conservation Training class, Respiratory Protection Training class, and Lead Awareness class. They are also required to submit to an annual medical evaluation, fit test, audiometric exam and a semi-annual Lead/Zinc blood test.
