  • Job Summary: This position will support LLUHS`s strategic plan and the organization`s mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Wholeness. Reports to the Manager-Internal Audit. The Internal Auditor Sr performs professional and independent internal audit projects in congruence with the LLUH mission, vision, and values under the supervision of the Audit Manager. Conducts performance, operational, financial, and/or compliance audit projects in conjunction with internal and external audit plans. Provides consulting and investigative services to the organization's management staff and conducts research and tax review compliance with federal and state tax and other regulatory agencies. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Proficiency in application of GAAP accounting principles and audit standards established by the AICPA and/or IIA. Must be proficient in Excel. Knowledge of Word, Windows, internet/email applications. Ability to quickly learn new and complex computer applications. Must be proficient in writing and speaking the English language. Able to relate to, work harmoniously with, and communicate effectively and efficiently with other personnel at all levels of management. Internal auditing with demonstrated superior accounting and auditing skills. Must possess strong analytic and problem solving skills. Must be detail-oriented. Able to maintain a high level of mental concentration while performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Able to handle interruptions and stressful conditions. Able to distinguish colors as necessary to the position; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and see sufficiently to read written documents necessary to the position. Must be able to function in accordance with current legal and professional requirements. Must avoid conflicts of interest. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area required. Minimum two years of public or general accounting experience with not-for-profit, healthcare, and/or university emphasis required. Valid California Driver's License required. CPA or CIA preferred.
