As the Information Security Officer for a line of business, you are a demonstrated leader and passionate about security and risk management. You see security as an enabler and differentiator to enable the business through innovation, not a step in the compliance process. You work with the business to understand their goals and objectives and help them meet those goals and objectives in a secure manner with a heavy forward lean on utilization of Public Cloud Services and engineering modern software. Work at the tip of the spear of technology security
Build your team to provide top-notch information security and risk management expertise and guidance
Lead a team of Information Security experts to include the following divisional functions: Cyber Risk Management, Cyber Program Management and Cyber Remediation
Liaise with risk partners across various division and enterprise functions to include Technology Risk Management
Serve as the central point of contact for your line of business technology executives into Capital One’s Cyber Risk Management priorities
Be an advocate for security and an advocate for the business and digital innovation
Provide security expertise on prioritizing and managing information security risks and initiatives
Work with business leadership to anticipate their objectives and needs to better serve them
Provide regular updates to executive leadership with your line of business on the overall information security health and risk environment
Influence customers to help them understand and adequately mitigate cyber risks
Escalate and manage cyber security risk
Effectively communicate Technology and Cyber risk metrics to the business
You have a desire to work in a very fast moving, forward leaning, modern computing environment
You have a deep passion for prioritizing and managing information security risks and initiatives
You have a strong desire to continually learn about new technologies
You possess strong conceptual thinking and communication skills

You have a deep understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward those objectives
You have the ability to describe the risks of a security exposure or vulnerability in business-impact terms
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 10 years experience in information technology
At least 5 years experience in information security
At least 5 years of experience managing teams
Masters degree or PhD in a related field
8+ years of experience performing security risk assessments and security architecture reviews highly desired
8+ years of experience of leading applications security, vulnerability management and incident response functions
5+ years of experience working with industry frameworks and compliance requirements, such as NIST CSF, FFIEC CAT, and PCI DSS
5+ years of experience with IT audits
Proven experience managing security risk a public cloud environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience utilizing Agile methodologies
Professional certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Experience in a regulated environment
Financial services industry experience a plus
