Network Engineer 3 IRES - HSV
Jacobs Redstone Arsenal, AL 2019-07-11The Network Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Support the 24x7x365 Network Operations Team
Monitor the MDA Enterprise Network using MicroFocus NNMi and other provided tools
Respond to Remedy Incident Tickets, working with customers to resolve network communication issues
Perform daily management of Cisco TACACS+/ACS/ISE/802.1x, NetMRI, Red Hat Linux Syslog Servers, Red Hat Linux Web server content.
Maintain Linux scripts (Perl, PHP, Java, Expcet, etc) for applying STIG setting to Cisco Network devices.
Work with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense's research and engineering computer network (DREN) to report and resolve network circuit issues.
Perform performance monitoring and trend analysis to identify and resolves issues before they impact operations.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Demonstrate proficiency in developing comprehensive and detailed drawings.
Follow documented process and procedures and provide feedback to update as necessary.
This position is primarily dayshift.
This position is located at Schriever AFB, Colorado or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama.

Musthave one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma(or GED) and 16 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 14 years ofgeneral experience; Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general experience;Master’s degree and 10 years of general experience.
Must have 8 yearsdirectly related experience in Cisco routers/switches, network firewalls,TCP/IP, UDP Multicast, OSPF, and various WAN networking technologies
Must have anactive DoD Secret Clearance
Must have DoD8570 IAT Level II Certification or higher
Work well in teamenvironment
Demonstrateexcellent customer service skills
