Job Description

Seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist for a contract role.  Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree required.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree preferred.  Must have 2-4 years of direct experience in the administration, maintenance, and support of business applications in web environment, database management, electronic mail systems, and operating systems.  Experience working with a Wyse terminal is highly desired!


  • Provide support to end-users by responding to a variety of issues, questions, and concerns related to hardware or software support
  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of the systems, including monitoring vendor software patches and enhancement releases, and working with appropriate subject matter experts to plan and implement
  • Assist with conversions, system changes, and new application implementation
  • Assist with security, problem reporting, user support, coding standards, development, testing and migration
  • Evaluate, prioritize and resolve complex problems using all resources available
  • Perform software installations on company-owned devices
  • Create end-user documentation to support the roll out of systems/new features in coordination with business units
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems
  • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes on in-house and non-managed systems
  • Install and configure new hardware and software
  • Add, remove, or update user account information
  • Ensure system security
  • Maintain procedures manual, documentation for the licensing of all software, and documentation and inventory of all hardware and software
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of highly sensitive information, including Protected Health Information (PHI)


  • Experience maintaining and supporting Windows server operating systems and Windows desktop operating systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and electronic mail system
  • Affinity for trouble-shooting and problem-solving; strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to understand business/industry and align IT strategies with business objectives
  • Ability to assist and instruct end-user effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to understand a wide range of perspectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, detailed-oriented environment, at times requiring unscheduled and/or irregular hours
