Position Description

Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations. Follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments; technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; nonroutine work may also be reviewed in progress. Performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as: Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts; may service or repair simple instruments or equipment. Conducts a variety of tests using established methods. Prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.  Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but nonstandardized sources; processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry; presents the data in prescribed form. May perform a combination of other duties as required that’s associated with this position: Prepares, modifies and maintains plans, designs, drawings, and schematics for C5ISR systems and components. Works from sketches, notes, and verbal instructions. May perform site surveys and capture existing data and make recommendations to implement new equipment and infrastructure. May work with engineers in specific disciplines, which may require some knowledge of that discipline. Performs complex tasks requiring the consideration of multiple variables to determine proper course of action. Receives general guidance/supervision but normally works independently on mastered tasks. Will be required to lead small teams in performance of tasks. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular C5ISR field. Requires a High School diploma and 3-4 years of experience in a C5ISR related field performing system equipment/cable plant integration and installation. Experience with implementation and maintenance of US NAVY C5ISR systems. BICSI certification preferred. Distinguish between different colors. Ability to read and understand blue prints for Cable Plant Systems. Possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks. Ability to climb ladders. Required to lift and carry items weighing ≈22.7 kg (50 lb) Applicants must have Cable Plant Infrastructure experience. Applicants must successfully undergo a background investigation and drug screening. This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require only with U.S. Citizens. Applicants must have ability to obtain/maintain Secret Level Clearance. Travel up to 50% or greater, CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required. Military Veterans and Spouses encouraged to apply.
