Position Description
  • Provide a high level of technical expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software and hardware programs to enhance a system or subsystem.
  • Work independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects.
  • Coordinate the activities of the systems engineering department with other sections of the corporation's or customers organization and systems operation.
  • Provide support for Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures LAIRCM life cycle for US and allied (Foreign Military Sales (FMS)) aircraft self-protection capability to include development, acquisition, modernization, fielding and operations support.
  • Provide support for high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform independent functional duties.
  • May oversee the efforts of more junior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Support project meetings, engineering and technical reviews, and working groups (as needed) and compliance efforts. Assist with all efforts to update, revise, or otherwise, change the supported systems.
Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years relevant work experience. Degree must be in Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Remain current in systems/software analysis technological developments and applications. Recommend future direction of projects to management.
  • Ability to perform technical analyses leading up to design reviews.
  • Ability to assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.
  • Ability to provide support for documentation reviews and coordination for approval.
  • Perform analyses to determine gaps in functionality or process where corrective action may be needed.
  • Experience in assuring best engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with aircraft safety and airworthiness certification.
  • Ability to support the development and evaluation of schedules and cost estimates.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as necessary.
