Job Description

This position functions as a senior level application developer for Lottery that supports .Net and related web technologies. This position is required to perform a complete range of information system analyst assignments including but not limited to designing, developing, testing and implementing computer systems and production support for Lottery's highly complex applications. Currently there are several applications (related to gaming systems, winner payments and retailers) using the .Net MVC framework.
 
This position is responsible to create and support Lottery's applications with a focus on .Net technology-based application development, Visual Studio, Entity Framework, web technologies like MVC framework, HTML, CSS and JavaScript utilizing SQL Server databases. Serves as a technical consultant to our Lottery clients to develop solutions to streamline critical business processes according to Lottery's strategic plan

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience

Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

Alternate Education and Experience

Information Technology Infrastructure Analyst P11 - 12
Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Additional Requirements and Information

Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.

Leave Time

Full time employees receive between 15 and 35 vacation leave days per year. Employees also receive 13 sick days per year, and employees receive 8 hours of leave to participate in certain school functions or community activities. Employees may also qualify for up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave for certain family or medical situations.

State employees receive 12 scheduled holidays each year, which include New Years Eve Day and New Years Day, Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day just to name a few.

Deferred Compensation

Employees may invest income in a tax-deferred retirement investment program. The state offers two optional deferred compensation plans, the 457 and 401(k). Employees decide the amount you want deducted from your paycheck.

Retirement

Employees receive a minimum 4% state contribution toward their retirement fund. If an employee elects to contribute more, the state will match that percentage (up to 3%).
