IoT Product Manager

What you’ll be doing...

This IoT Product Manager role will be responsible for developing the strategy and lifecycle management for IoT value added services, targeting the enterprise and medium business segment. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for user experience, product creativity and marketplace success with digital products. This includes the ideation, customer research, requirements, development and implementation of strategic plans for incremental services on Verizon’s ThingSpace IoT platform, resulting in sales and revenue growth. Individual must be able to source data, assess and evaluate for insights, trends and required course correction and then be able to synthesize to drive actions. This person must execute in a cross managerial environment while developing close working relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology partners.

  • Represent IoT Products and serve as SPOC for IoT operational teams such as sales, contracting, customer on-boarding, Open Development device certification, VPP partnership, ThingSpace manage, customer care, provisioning and activation etc.
  • Lead cross-organizational effort to identify root cause and resolve complex customer journey issues.
  • Refine IoT product roadmap with simplified customer journey, standardized internal process and measurable SLA.
  • Host requirement sessions with user communities and document detailed product enhancement and automation requirements.
  • Develop business case with product enhancement objectives and obtain buy-in from senior management, product, finance and operational leaders.
  • Establish project in Clarify, manage submission and prioritize work effort with PMO team.
  • Manage and monitor project timelines with IT and PMO organizations.
  • Report project risks to leadership teams and resolve/mitigate issues with product teams.
  • Develop training and marketing materials to introduce new enhancements to sales/operational teams, user communities and business partners.
  • Provide training to sales/operational teams such as DSE, contract management, OD certification, BGCO, BFO etc., to introduce new enhancements to IoT operations.
  • Manage GTM activities and document feedback for future enhancements.
  • Collect and compile customers, competitors and operational data from different external sources and internal organizations such as market research, data warehouse, operation metrics etc.
  • Perform data analysis to identify root cause of customer experience issues.
  • Develop and publish product metrics to improve performance of IoT products.
  • Monitor SLA/performance to drive customer adoption of IoT products and improve customer satisfaction.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Four or more years of experience in business case development, product management, user requirements and data analysis in the telecom industry.
  • Ability to present complex ideas in simple terms and obtain buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management across various organizations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills with ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management across various organizations
  • Excels in identifying new areas of opportunity.
  • Knowledge of one or more Verizon systems: ThingSpace Manage, UWS/API, SFA systems, MyBiz/VEC, SalesForce.com, , M2M Operational Center, OD Portal, DMD, UWS/IoT Order Flow, Vision/CPI .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic and proactive with a strong sense of urgency; track record of accomplishing goals on deadline.
  • Ability to take the initiative, work independently, and think creatively to solve problems
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Access and other critical systems.
  • Willingness to travel.
