The YMCA offers a hands-on internship for undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of exercise
physiology, nutrition, recreation, health and wellness. The internship offers experience in fitness center and
preventive care settings. Students gain practical experience in nutrition/lifestyle counseling, exercise
prescription, and exercise leadership for a large and diverse population. The internship can be tailored towards
the intern's primary interests. For example, a nutrition sciences student can spend some additional time working
with the onsite dietitian.
