Official Scholarship Rules
1. ELIGIBILITY. The Application.Careers scholarship is open to people of all nationalities who are at least 16 years old and are currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college or university) or a High School senior with a legitimate acceptance letter from an accredited University or College. Current employees, officers, directors and agents of Application.Careers and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to win. Void where prohibited. Limit one (1) application per person. The person’s entries will be disqualified if he/she is proved that has entered with more than one identity. No prize will be awarded to applicants who do not meet the eligibility requirements. All information on the application must be accurate and complete. 2. ORIGINALITY. By entering the Contest, applicant should acknowledge that the submission is an original work and has not been previously published or won any award. Applicant shall also be aware of no conflicting rights in the submission including but not limited to copyright or other intellectual property right as further identified below in the section entitled “No Infringement.” All applicants represent, state, and agree that their contest submission will not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party, including by way of example and not by limitation, any copyright, trademark or patent rights belonging to any third party. Plagiarism in any form will result in disqualification. 3. SELECTION OF POTENTIAL WINNERS. Application.Careers will select one (1) potential winner. In the event that an applicant’s telephone number or address changes, it is applicant's responsibility to notify Application.Careers of such change. Applcation.Careers shall have no liability for any potential winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by the potential winner for any reason. The potential scholarship winner will be notified by email on or about May 25th, 2017, and must reply to our email (scholarship administrator) within seven (7) business days since the date of the email notification. Any potential winner who cannot be contacted by email within seven (7) business days will be disqualified, the scholarship will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate applicant from the same application period with the next highest score. Since this is a contest of skill, the odds of winning depend upon the quality and eligibility of the submissions received, as well as the number of entrants. Application.Careers reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the contest.All scholarships are awarded without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, or national origin. 4.AWARDS OF SCHOLARSHIPS. One (1) winner will receive a total amount of five hundred dollars ($500) Scholarship Award. Each Scholarship Award will be in the form of check to the accredited post-secondary institution of higher education attended by the Scholarship Award Recipient (if the Scholarship Award Recipient has enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to Application.Careers). The check for $500 will be mailed to the winner within fourteen (14) business days of winner verification. Scholarship Award Recipients must submit proof of enrollment for the current semester. Scholarship Awards may not be assigned, transferred, or changed, except at the sole discretion of Application.Careers. No substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted. Any taxes due on the Scholarship prize or any other prizes awarded are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Applicants agree to be bound by Official Rules and agree that if any Scholarship Award Recipient who fails to provide proof of identity, refuses to provide required affidavit, refuses to complete and provide any requested tax forms (including IRS W-9 form), is found to have violated the Official Rules or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, and the Scholarship Award will be forfeited. 5.PRIVACY. Application.Careers will use your personal information only for the purpose of offering the scholarship, awarding the scholarship to the winner and any reporting responsibility to taxing authorities. We may also provide information about the winner on our site, including your essay. 6.PUBLICITY. Except where prohibited, to accept a scholarship award, the scholarship award recipients must agree that Application.Careers may, without any limitation or further compensation or notice, use his or her name, city and state of residence, entry, likeness, photograph, and image in any and all media, worldwide, with the purpose of advertising and promoting the website, Application.Careers and the scholarship program. 7.OWNERSHIP. The winning entry, once determined, shall become the exclusive property of Application.Careers and may be used for publicity, publication, or as content in any media, online or offline, without further permission, unless prohibited by law. Application.Careers will own your application, including your written response submission(s) and any images that you link to in your application, and will own all publishing rights of your application and the written response submission. All original artwork including but not limited to digitally uploaded images, original photographs, paintings, drawings and otherwise submitted material will not be returned to the entrant. The one exception to this rule is as follows: Application.Careers will return original artwork it has requested from a potential winner who does not in fact become the winner. Application.Careers shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to edit, composite, morph, scan, duplicate, or alter, the application and written response submission(s) for any purpose which Application.Careers considers necessary or desirable, and each applicant irrevocably waives any and all so-called moral rights they may have in the application and written responses submitted by him or her. 8.FURTHER DOCUMENTS. Potential Winner must sign and return one (1) an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Publicity/Liability Release (except where prohibited by law) within seven (7) business days. Otherwise, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate applicant from the same application period with the next highest score. 9.LIST OF WINNERS. Each winner’s name, city, state, photograph and image will be provided upon request during all application periods.
